The book group had a change of venue and an unusual topic in April. We chose books
from the list of a particular publisher, Fitzcarraldo. They publish a lot of literary works,
many in translation. This was outside our comfort zone and I don’t think many of us
will read any others from this source, but it’s always good to spread your wings a bit.

Some recent reads by the group were recommended as follows:

Weyward, a tale of wise women through the ages. The Ghost Theatre, Elizabethan
theatre and the wild adventures of the young people involved. The Whalebone
Theatre, a neglected child in a crumbling mansion, a beached whale and a theatre
within its bones.
