COUNTRY WALKS

Status:Active, open to new members
When: on Thursdays 10:00 AM
3rd of the month
Venue: Various

We are a friendly group who enjoy walking in the countryside, so we are used to encountering mud, hills and stiles. Walks are generally around 5-7 miles and include both circular and linear walks. We aim to be brisk rather than leisurely but do take time, especially after going up hills, to look around us and enjoy the views. The starting points are usually reached by car but we may use public transport. Sometimes we are able to get refreshments en route or we take a snack or picnic lunch. Specific details including length, terrain and possibilities for refreshments for each walk are emailed to group members about two weeks before the walk date. Volunteers to lead walks will be very welcome. The expectation is that members will participate in at least four walks during the course of the year.
