Come and join this friendly group to amble for a couple of miles or so in the countryside. Some ambles can be accessed by public transport, but others may only be reached by car. Lifts for those without transport may be possible. Group members take turns to organise the ambles and details are communicated to members via the Group Leaders. We generally walk for between an hour and an hour and a half and usually end at a café or pub for refreshments, or members may bring a picnic lunch.
****We have decided that due to the heat, all our summer walks will start earlier - 10 am.****
****And, June's walk will be a week earlier and will be on Friday 19th June.****
If any of you have a walk and would like help with a recce do let Margaret and Liz know. We are happy to help with a practice. Part of belonging to the Ambling group is the requirement to recce and lead an amble.
5 of us met for May's walk. We met earlier than normal and also shortened the walk due to the heat, nonetheless it was a really lovely amble. I attach pics of a barley field, a church and a group pic taken by Janet ( thank you!).
We ended up in the cafe at Cyclopark for a welcome drink and ice cream.
The church was interesting. It was St Margaret, Ifield and was pebbledashed which I thought odd for a 12th century church! Can't think why they would do that.
It was lovely and peaceful though. Very secluded.

There were 8 of us for the April walk around the Bridge Community in Dartford. This was a new location for most of us and we were impressed with the design of it.
The weather was gorgeous and we walked just over 2 miles, finishing up at The Nucleus for lunch in their cafe.

March
Despite the forecast, we had a good walk on Friday with just a bit of drizzle at the end.
Six of us met for this walk which was a lovely amble through Trosley Country Park for about 2.5 miles, seeing some early bluebells and anemones on the way and ending up in the very nice cafe afterwards.

There was a good turnout yesterday for this month's walk with 10 of us meeting at Greenhithe.
The walk was a linear one going back to Bluewater via all sorts of places most of us had not been to before!
We had lovely weather thank goodness and covered about 2.5 miles.

It was a lovely amble this September, through parts of Darenth and Sutton at Hone that were unfamiliar to most . Ten of us took part in the amble, including Rene, our new group member - welcome !
Thank you ,Janet , for doing the practice run and for leading us on the day. Such good weather too !
