The Group shares an enthusiasm for classical music and come together to share their love of this genre. Classical is defined to include music of high quality that has stood the test of time. This may include well known popular songs, some jazz and some lighter pieces. However, the focus is generally on the more serious classical works, and not restricted to the popular classics. e.g. Members have presented music from the Crusades as well as less well known works by composers familiar and less familiar. New members will be welcome to present their own programmes with music of their choice (The GL compiles member’s programmes in advance, printing them for distribution at meetings. (Meetings are held at Brent Methodist Church, East Dartford).
